A group of at-risk youth, commonly known as “zogoes”, disrupted a Sunday service at the Faith Baptist Church in Blagay Town Community, in Ganta, Nimba County.

Speaking to this paper at the police station in Ganta, Elder of the church, Sam Dahn, explained that zogoes attempted stealing one of the worshippers’ motorbike from the church compound during service, but was caught, which led to the group attacking the worshippers, demanding them to release their colleague.

According to Elder Dahn, the action of the zogoes left some menbers of the church wounded and are undergoing medical treatment at various health centers in Ganta, Nimba County.

“Two of the zogoes attempted stealing the motorbike but were caught by church members. Their friends went and grouped themselves and started stoning the worshippers with all kinds of deadly objects like sticks, irons, and stones, among other things, which led many of the worshippers to escape, for fear of being killed or wounded,” Sam Dahn disclosed to Police.

The Faith Baptist Church boasts one of the highest populations of worshippers, operating under the watchful eyes of the Ganta Christian Community in Nimba County.
