Liberia’s top women’s football clubs, World Girls FC and Determine Girls FC, are set to face off in the highly anticipated 2024/25 Orange Cup Grand Final after both teams secured impressive victories in their respective semi-final ties.
World Girls Football Club are through to the 2024/25 Orange Cup final after a dominant 5-0 win over Ravia Angels in the second leg of their semi-final match on Wednesday. The victory, coupled with a 9-0 aggregate score, sent them into the final with an overwhelming advantage. This marks their second consecutive Orange Cup final appearance, as they aim to bounce back from last year’s penalty shootout heartbreak against Shaita Angels.
While the Iron Ladies were all smiling for their triumph over Rovia Angels and booking a space in the finals, Determine Girls on the other hand close the fixture with narrow win over the Senior Female Professionals on Thursday April 3, 2025.
It was a thrilling encounter watching Determine Girls Football Club secured their spot in the final after edging out Senior Female PRO in a 3-2 aggregate victory. A 2-1 win in the second leg, combined with a crucial away goal from the first leg’s 1-1 draw, saw the Liberia Upper Women’s League leaders’ triumph and punch their ticket to the high-profile final.
The match between the two sides is expected to be a heated contest, with both teams coming into the final with high hopes. For World Girls, it is an opportunity to claim the trophy they narrowly missed out on last year, while Determine Girls are eager to secure glory after their strong run this season.

Coach Famata Dean told a post-match interview that the final means a lot for her girls and they are trying to fix everything to recover from their last year final defeat. She however noted that World Girls performance this season in the league doe not have any effect on the pending final because both are two separate competitions.
