The induction of Bahn City Mayor over the weekend brings to five, the number of city mayors inducted since the ascendency of the Boakai-led government in Nimba County.
As Nimba gradually sets up its administrative structure in the seven districts, cities with appointed and inducted mayor to date are Ganta, Sanniquellie, Karnplay, Saclepea and Bahn while Tappita and Butuo are still pending.
The Ministry of internal affairs officials over the weekend inducted Bahn City Mayor, Sakpah Mah in Nimba County.
On behalf of Superintendent Kou Gono, the County Inspector, Daniel Zelkpeh, urged Mayor Mah to work in line with the Constitution and the residents of the district.
According to inspector Zelkpeh, Superintendent Gono absence from the program was triggered on national engagement couple with other pressing issues.
“We are inducting you today to work in accordance with the government’s agenda which are agriculture, health and education, among other developments in the country,” Zelkpeh expressed.
Meanwhile, Representative Musa Bility committed to working with Mayor Mah to fight drugs, crimes and as well create opportunities for youth empowerment for the betterment of the district.
Representative Sylvester Maneh then urged Mayor Mah to place as a priority reconciliation among the residents in promoting democracy in the district.
Mayor Mah assured that his administration will work with the residents to reconcile the people of the district.
“My office will also work with the Elders Council to foster peace, fight drugs and crimes,” Mayor Mah stressed.
