Wife Cries For Missing Husband In Nimba

By Solomon T Gaye
Tension is reportedly brewing between families of a man declared missing and some religious leaders over the whereabouts of a perceived missing man in Nimba County.
The missing man’s wife, Frances Kollie, explained that on August 25, 2023, her husband, Peterson Kollie, allegedly went her to visit his son in-law in Sanniquellie and did not return and his whereabouts has since been unknown.
“The family contacted a deliverance church in Margibi but the church demanded a letter of authorization from the National Chief Council before proceeding to aide in finding the missing man,” Madam Kollie lamented.
“We got a letter from the Chairperson of the National Chief Council, Mehn, but some local chiefs stopped the church mother from performing her spiritual duty,” she explained.
The youth and elders of Gboa Darvoyee Town see this action as an obstruction to the exercise but according to report gathered, Sanniqellie is becoming tense as the youth are threatening to demonstrate so that the exercise is carried out in order to curb wickedness in the town.
When contacted, the National Chief Council office in Sanniquellie confirmed the information of a missing man in the district but said, that was since August 2023.
“The office is aware of the church going to look for the missing man but what we want is the living body of this missing man,” Chief Mehn disclosed.
“This office has summoned the chief of the town to come and provide reason for putting stop to the exercise,” Chief Mehn lamented.
When this paper contacted Police ACP Mendian Larmie, he said no case of a missing man is reported to the police asserting, “I just took over as a general LNP Commander, no missing man in the turned over note.”
