Weah To Address NHA Stakeholders’ Confab

The Liberian leader, George Manneh Weah is expected on Thursday, May 26, 2022 to deliver the keynote address at the National Stakeholder’s Conference on the housing sector.
According to the NHA press release, the conference which will be held at the Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town will found part of the progressive efforts being executed by the Liberian government through the National Housing Authority (NHA) which gears towards the boosting of the housing sector in the country.
The release further noted that President Weah’s leadership has highlighted the provision of quality housing facilities as a mainstay in the actualization of the county’s Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development (PAPD).
And in pushing forward efforts to actualize this critical vision of President George Manneh , the National Housing Authority, under the leadership of Celia Cuffy Brown , has embarked on a private-public investment initiative with the Millennium Construction Company for the building of 5, 000 modern three and four bed room housing units opposite the EBK Barracks in Margibi County.
According to a release, the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) at the program will highlight the importance of the NHA mortgage program.
The NHA Managing Director described the project as a catalyst to further provide quality and affordable housings for Liberians.
The NHA has also taken further steps to boost the housing needs for Liberians by entering into an agreement with the Accra-based Structure and Logistics Limited for the construction of 2,000 modern housing units in Bong, Nimba, Grand Bassa, Grand Cape Mount, Margibi and Montserrado Counties.
The release noted that the current NHA’s management aggressive approach to improve the housing sector has also resulted in the securing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Global Housing Solution (GHS) and the Liberia Asset Management Company (LAMCO) for the construction of a total of 600 housing units; with GHS and LAMCO constructing 300 each.
Meanwhile, the NHA is enlisting the participation of partners and the public to its national stakeholder’s conference on the housing sector on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the Ministerial Complex in Congo Town.
The NHA describes the conference as a wonderful opportunity to brainstorm on ways to boost Liberia’s housing sector.
