Justice Sie-A Nyene Youh has vowed to uphold and to defend the Constitution of Liberia as Chief Justice of Republic of Liberia.
Inducted as the third Chief Justice of Liberia thereby replacing Francis Korkpor who retired after reaching the age of 70 in adherence to the Liberian constitution, Youh in an excited mood said, the display by the President was not symbolic; rather, it was done in line with the law of Liberia.
President George M. Weah described Chief Justice Youh as a person with the requisite experienced and qualification to serve.

The Commissioning of the Chief Justice Youh makes it three women to serve the highest office of the judicial of the Republic of Liberia. The other two female justices are Justice Gloria Musu Scott and Justice Frances Johnson Morris.
The commissioning of Justice Youh is in consonant with Article 72 of the Liberian Constitution.
In his commissioning address, President Weah said, “Justice Youh you were successfully vetted and confirmed by the Liberian Senate, which is evident that you have the full confidence and support of the other two branches of our tripartite governance structure.”
“I have no doubt whatsoever, that you have the requisite experience, skills, and qualifications to serve as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia, having due regard to the more than four decades that you have practiced in Liberia as a trial and transactional lawyer, as well as the nine years that you have served as an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court bench,” Pres. Weah praised her.
Weah added, “We are gathered here today on this solemn occasion to commission you, Your Honor Justice Sie-A- Nyene Gyapay Youh as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Liberia.”
The Liberian leader said as of today date, Justice Youh has become only the third female Chief Justice in the 175-year history of our founding as a Republic- adding; “She will also become the first female to ascend to this high office of leadership of the Second Branch of Government since 2003, some 19 years ago.”
Extoling Justice Youh, Weah said, “You have the skills, and qualifications to serve as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia, having due regard to the more than four decades that you have practiced in Liberia as a trial and transactional lawyer, as well as the 9 years that you have served as an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court bench,” Pres. Weah praised her.
