Weah Applauds Singapore, Indonesia On Independence Celebrations -Consoles U.S

President George Manneh Weah has sent two separate messages of congratulations to the Government and People of the Republic of Singapore and the Republic of Indonesia, on the occasion commemorating the 76th Independence Anniversaries of the two countries. 

According to a Foreign Ministry release, the two sister countries observe their 76th Independence Anniversaries on August 17, 2023. 

In the message to his Singaporean counterpart, Halimah Yacob, President George Manneh Weah, on behalf of Liberia, and in his own name, extended warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Government and people of the Republic of Singapore as they celebrate this historic milestone.    

President Weah also recognized with satisfaction, the increasingly momentous partnership both countries have recorded over the years.

President George Manneh Weah also anticipates that the bond of friendship so happily existing between both Liberia and Singapore, will continue to grow stronger in the years ahead.

The Liberian President then wished the people of Singapore unity, peace, and prosperity, and prayed that the Almighty Allah will continue to shower His abundant blessings and prosperity on President Halimah Yacob and the Government and people of Singapore.

In a related development, in the message to his Indonesian counterpart, Joko Widodo, President George Mannah Weah, on behalf of Liberia, extended warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Government and people of Indonesia stating that his government recognizes, with deep satisfaction, the increasingly momentous partnership both countries have recorded.

President Weah also noted that it is his anticipation that the bonds of friendship so happily existing between both countries will continue to grow stronger in the years ahead.

He wished the people of Indonesia unity, peace, and prosperity, and prayed that the Almighty Allah will continue to shower His abundant blessings on President Joko Widodo, as he steers the affairs of his country.

Meanwhile, President Weah, has sent a condolence message to Mr. Joseph R. Biden, Jr., President of the United States of America, following the unfortunate and tragic death of at least 99 persons, due to wildfires in Maui, State of Hawaii, United States of America, on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, President George Manneh Weah, on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia, and in his own name, extended heartfelt condolences to His Excellency Mr. Joseph R. Biden, Jr., President of the United States of America, and in particular, the bereaved families, for the irreparable loss sustained.

The Liberian Leader then prayed and hoped that the Almighty God will grant the President and the resilient people of the United States of America comfort and strength during this difficult period of national mourning and wished the injured people a speedy recovery.
