‘We will Support You With Every Dime and Penny’ … Boakai Square Avows

The chairperson of a pro-Boakai organization dubbed ‘The Boakai Square’ says the organization has vowed to support the presidential bid of Joseph Boakai in the pending legislative and Presidential elections.

“We will support you with every penny and dime to ensure that you are elected President of this great nation because Liberia is on the verge of collapse and needs to be rescued,” Mr. Mbozua Barclay promised.

He said it is time that every Liberian sees the hardship and unwanted sufferings that the nation is experiencing under the bad leadership of President George Weah and his CDC-led government and join Amb. Boakai to rescue the country.

“No one needs to tell you the last time papa came home with plastic bag. Papa can’t even find the empty plastic before putting something in it for the children,” Mr. Barclay told the elated crowd.
He made the statement on Saturday, June 10, 2023 when Amb. Boakai visited District 15 in Caldwell where thousands of partisans, supporters and well-wishers gathered under the heavy downpour of rain to pledge their support to the UP’s presidential hopeful.

The Boakai Square chairperson informed Team Boakai that the members of his organization have raised funds to print T-shirts, banners, stickers and fliers to kick-start the campaign when the National Elections Commission declares the campaign activities opened.

“Every banner you see here today, every T-shirt we are wearing are printed from the meager resources from the market women, motorcyclists and kekeh riders; from the young and old people who believe in you and your rescue mission,” Barclay informed the team.

“We will go to every town, village, and city to spread the good news of Amb. Boakai. We will speak to them in our local dialects, in our Liberian English and we know our people will listen to us and join the rescue train,” Barclay noted.

In remarks, Amb. Boakai thanked every Liberian for the show of support to the rescue mission’s emancipation of the nation from the folks in the CDC.

“I thank all of you for standing in the rain. I shed tears to see people running in the rain only because they believe in us. And for people to do all of this and you came and steal from them, even God Himself will strike you,” Amb. Boakai told supporters.

He accused government officials of living recklessly at the detriment of the common people saying, “People who were renting rooms and could not afford to pay their rents are now owners of mansions.”
“But today, we are here to give our young people hope; that is why we made the choice to bring someone like you, someone who understands you, somebody you can relate to, to help build a new Liberia for you,” Boakai said.

He blamed the Weah-led government for not doing much to secure a brighter future for the youthful population of Liberia and promised to rebrand the country’s image among the comity of nations.
The Boakai Square, an auxiliary of the Unity Party, was founded in 2020 to support Amb. Joseph Boakai and all Unity Party candidates vying for elected offices throughout Liberia.
