Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung departed Monrovia for Barcelona Spain on Monday, June 24, 2024, to participate in the 25th Africa Energy Forum (AEF), set for June 25-28, 2024.
At the forum, Vice President Koung will deliver the opening statement at the session on “Advancing Renewable Energy Projects for Sustainable Value Chains.
He will join a panel of experts to discuss the future of renewable energy, focusing on solar initiatives to meet Africa’s growing demand for alternative energy sources.
VP Koung is scheduled to take part in an exclusive business and trade roundtable discussion with John Humphrey, the UK Government’s Trade Commissioner for Africa.
This engagement will offer a platform to connect with leading UK energy investors and EPC contractors interested in delivering clean energy solutions across the continent.
VP Koung’s agenda also includes meetings with representatives from the World Bank Group, African Development Bank, Infinity Power, JA-Solar, and JCM Power.
These discussions aim to showcase investment opportunities in Liberia to enhance the country’s electricity delivery capacity.
Vice President Koung’s participation in the AEF highlights Liberia’s commitment to advancing its energy infrastructure and promoting sustainable development.
His involvement will emphasize fostering international cooperation, attracting investments, and addressing the energy challenges and opportunities within Liberia and across Africa.
The Africa Energy Forum convenes senior government officials and private sector executives to explore ways to expand public and private cooperation in the energy sector.
