Victor Watson Finally Certificated

The National Elections Commission- NEC has finally certificated Candidate Victor Varney Watson, winner of the October 5th, 2019 Grand Cape Mount County Bi-Elections.
During the certification ceremony, Cllr. Commissioner Sarah M. Toe of the National Elections Commission (NEC) who did the welcoming remarks thanked all those who participated in the Bi-elections, calling them winners in the process.
Cllr. Commissioner Toe called on the winner of the Bi-elections, Senator elect Victor Watson to champion the confidence reposed in him by the citizens of Grand Cape Mounty by entrusting to him the seat.
For his part, NEC Chairman Cllr. Jerome George Korkoya thanked the people of Grand Cape Mount for conducting themselves in a peaceful manner which had seen them have a violent- free election.
In his words to the people of Grand Cape Mount County, the NEC Boss said, over his nearly seven years of serving as chair of the Commission, Grand Cape Mount County had accounted for violent-free elections. He further stated that unlike other counties, Cape Mount had had no case of violence or confusion which had taken them to the court or to the Commission for redress.
He said, although, the recent Bi-elections had some problems, but those problems were not enough to prolong the results of the elections. “Commissioner Dukuly had a smooth time supervising the Bi-elections; in fact, Grand Cape Mount County had been one of the counties in the history of the country where we have had no problems so far, and I’m sure, Commissioner Dukuly knows what I am talking about,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the new Senator Elect of Grand Cape Mount, Victor Watson has assured his kinsmen of his willingness to work with the Caucus of the county aimed at pursuing the agenda of the county.
He said, Grand Cape Mount can only be successful if only everyone work together to at least have a common understanding in pushing the agenda of the county. In his deliberation, Senator elect Watson called on the citizens to work together and called on all Cape Mountaineers to join the Caucus in making Grand Cape Mount second to none in the Republic of Liberia.
“I hereby plead with you all, our dearest citizens, those of you I consider as my employers; I respect you, to members of the Caucus, and even my father, Cllr. Varney Sherman, let us put our differences behind and forge ahead, let us forget about those things that will divide us, and hold together at least to make Grand Cape Mount a place for all, where our children, and children’s children will live happily and in peace,” he stated.
Senator Victor Watson succeeded late Senator Edward Dagoseh through Bi-elections on October 5th, 2019.
