The Varney Taylor Foundation (VTF), an American based organization, has donated 12 solar street lights to three towns in Bomi County.
Making the donation over the weekend, the representative said the gesture is intended to brighten up the towns so that the residents are save even at night and the beneficiaries were Jawajeh Town, Lowah Town and Jenneh Town.
Presenting the items on behalf of the Foundation’s founder, Varney B. Taylor, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Famatta D. Taylor, stated that all members of the Foundation are from Bomi and added that it is very important to remember one’s root.
According to her, erecting those lights at the various towns will bring happiness to the villagers and also help to avert any criminal activities because of the brightness of the lights. and hoped that the donated items which were presented to the various Town Chiefs will be taken care of and used for the intended purpose.
She further disclosed the organization’s plans of dedicating a clinic at Lowah Town in Bomi County where their late father lived because according to her, the nearest clinic in the town is about an hour’s journey which a distance for critically ill patients as well as pregnant women.
She added that one of her elder sisters died two days after giving birth and her other cousin also died from an illness just because of the distance they had to cover before getting to a clinic noting, “When the clinic shall have been built right in the town, people will no longer die from still birth, and others will be able to attend to their illnesses in time.”
Receiving the items, Town Chief John Q Coleman lauded the organization and team for the donation, noting that he is not surprised at the donation because it is not their first time.
He however called on other well-meaning Liberians to emulate the good example of the Varney Taylor Foundation because the Foundation can’t do all for them.
The Varney Taylor Foundation is a charitable American-based organization that was birthed in Liberia in 2017, with the sole purpose of reaching out to the unreachable across Liberia.
