VAN Community Outreach Identifies With Many In Gd. Kru

Barclayville, Gd. County Linberia Feb. 21, 2020 – In an effort to help mitigate some of the educational needs of students, the VAN Community Outreach has distributed assorted educational supplies to students at various schools in the communities.
Speaking upon her return from the southeastern part of Liberia, Madam Veronica N. Nimpson, Director of the humanitarian organization said that the trip was intended to acquire information relative to the needs of the students, elderly and that she also brought some supplies for the targeted groups.
She stated that her organization is a non-for profit and a non-governmental entity which is focused on making the difference in the lives of the youths and the elderly in Liberia disclosing that her entity distributed copybooks, pencils including notebooks, coloring pencils along with pieces of chalk, dusters as well as calculators, sharpeners, erasers and clothes among others.
The Head of the humanitarian gesture from the State of Maryland, the United States of America (USA) disclosed that Rally Time Hospital in Grand Cess also received gloves, blood pressure & blood sugar machines; disposable bed pads; under garment pads for the elderly; thermometers; glucose monitoring apparatus; masks; quicker oats; creamer wheat and other essential medical supplies which were contained in a barrel.
The beneficiaries of the humanitarian gesture were; the Bethu Elementary & Junior High School; the SassTown Elementary & Junior High School; the St. Paul Catholic Elementary School; SassTown Community School; Barclayville Central High School; St. Peter Clever Elementary School; George Toe Washington High School; J.J. Dixon High School; the T.J. Wolo High School just to name a few.
Madam Nimpson further added that her initial plan was targeted at eight schools in Grand Kru County owing to the difficulty to reach there due to the bad road condition but the demand of the students are similar so she was able to have serviced students from more than fifteen schools along with their teachers saying that they have enough stationeries remaining that can be used for the rest of the 2020 academic year.
“I donated US$200 to the Rally Time Hospital so that the authorities should get the generator running because it didn’t have current that evening due to lack of fuel and at the same time a pregnant woman was in labor who needed surgery and fortunately for her, I was told that she gave birth to a boy the following day,” she explained.
The Director indicated that she has decided to give back to the communities through educational empowerment and provide essential medical supplies for the elderly saying that she acquired quality education there many years ago which has impacted her life and as such, she is using her social security savings to fund the organization’s activities at the moment.
Commenting on the organization’s future plan, the Head of the VAN Community Outreach averred that she will construct a community Hall where students can have breakfast in the morning before going to school and return there after school for them to do their studies and assignments.
She then assured the students, teachers and local leaders that she is going to begin soliciting support that will enable her cater to some of the many requests that they made to her when she returns to the States naming some of them as a library, a generator for the night school; mimeographing machine and a motorized boat; hand pump; a clinic as well as providing scholarships to students to advance themselves after graduation but promised to make some available at later date.
Madam Nimpson then urged others to consider her work as a motivation for them to do likewise in other communities because there is huge demand out there relative to education among other needs and lauded the community dwellers for the warm reception accorded the visiting team, she stressed.
