Bong County Electoral District 1 Representative Prince K Koinah, has broken grounds for the installation of a pipe-borne water system in Zoweinta, Kokoyah District, Bong County.
The project is being initiated by Prince K. Koinah, the district’s lawmaker, in partnership with some members of the 55th Legislature, especially the majority bloc.
Following the groundbreaking ceremony, Representative Prince Koinah disclosed to reporters that the project is being carried out in accordance with a promise made to residents of David Dean’s Town during the 2023 campaign period.
Koinah added that the installation of pipe-borne water will affect not only Zoweinta but also Botota, Rock Crusher, and David Dean’s Town, among others.
Koinah furthered that following the first phase of the project in Zoweinta, the second phase will immediately commence in the selected towns.
He then placed the total cost of Zoweinta’s project at twenty thousand United States Dollars (US $20,000).
Rep. Koinah assured residents of Zoweinta that the project will be completed and dedicated to them by January 2025, with a call for collaborative efforts from residents of the area.
As a means of effectuating the start of the project, one million Liberian dollars was pledged by Representative Richard Koon, Speaker of the Majority Bloc, and a team of lawmakers from the majority block who graced the groundbreaking ceremony of the project. Rep. Koon added that the money is their way of contributing to the jump-start project.
In another development, Rep. Koinah and his team also attended the grand opening of “Menina Resort,” a modern State-of-the-art Hotel built in Zoweinta by former Unity Party Campaign Manager William Kotee.
Remarking at the event, Rep. Koinah called for the pavement of the road from Palala to Zoweinta, craving the involvement of the Joseph Boakai and Jeremiah Koung government and the Bong Legislative Caucus.
He added that if the road is paved, it would ease transportation and traveling constraints faced by commuters along that route.
The Majority Bloc Speaker, Rep. Richard Koon, and his team also contributed two hundred thousand Liberian dollars to the management of Menina Resort for their one-night stay in the Hotel, with a promise of joining others to host events at the Resort.
The opening of Menina was graced by scores of government officials including Senator Prince Kermue Moye, Superintendent Hawa Loleyah Norris, Rep. Prince Koinah (Bong District 1) Richard Nagbe Koon (Montserrado District11), Bishop Manneh Johnson (Bomi District 2), and Clarence Mints (Grand Bassa District 2).
Others are Rep. Alexander Poure (River Gee District 3) and Rep. Austin Taylor (Maryland District 3), including scores of local government officials and residents of Bong County.
