Some women who had just given birth at the John F. Kennedy (JFK) memorial Hospital in Monrovia, over the weekend become grateful recipients of a goodwill gesture from the Yah Kemah Material Help, a US-based Charity organization in Worcester, Massachusetts.
The organization provided financial support to some underprivileged young mothers by paying Hospital bills amounting up to US$500 and L$20,000 respectively, as part of its mission to provide Material support to indigent women.
The founder of the charity group, Sonie Kamara, covered the medical expenses during her recent visit to JFK to assess the needs of the women desperately in need and stated, “We have seen the conditions of women hospitalized; some can afford to pay and others cannot.”
“As a charity group, we thought to come to their aid. The first thing is to settle their bills and get them discharged,” Mrs. Kamara said.
According to her, the patients were immediately discharged as soon as the bills were paid, and they thanked the organization for helping them to get of the Hospital.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Kamara also visited the Zekepa Heath Care Clinic in Nimba County over the weekend, where she provided 24 mattresses valued at over US$400 to help alleviate the shortage of Hospital beds.
