In an effort to providing aid to Liberians during the fight against the novel Coronavirus, a United States-based nongovernmental Organization dubbed “Sons and Daughters-Kings and Queens Inc. or SDKQ” Saturday, June 5, 2020 continued phase-two of its distribution of food and nonfood items to children and elders in Bernard Farm, Paynesville City here.
Over 500 kids and elders walked away with a parcel of rice contained in black-and white plastic bags, nose masks, Maggie cubes and other assorted things.
The organization is a legally registered institution based in the United States of America founded by a Black American identified as Joe Wooley.
The organization which established its branch in Africa in 2017 extended similar services in May of this year to elders and kids in the Chocolate City, Gardnersville belt.
Speaking to newsmen, Mr. Ben Johnson, Executive Director of the Organization and official spokesperson indicated that the group’s goal is to cater to disadvantage youths in America and Africa but chose to provide food and nonfood stuffs which group believes is cardinal during the lockdown.
According to him, gov’t. Announced plans to distribute food to its citizens-precisely the vulnerable but perhaps due to limited resources was unable to reach everybody, a situation Mr. Johnson noted, propelled his institution to feed the elders and kids who are in dire need.
“Our mission since its establishment in 2017 is to give back to who are unfortunate. So today, we are here as part of the goal to give to these elders and kids during these times of the pandemic,” he said.
He further mentioned that the charitable group anticipates doing more gestures in other districts with support from the vision bearer and sole sponsor, Mr. Joe Wooley in the United States
