UL Faculty Terms Law School Test Cancellation Unacceptable

The University of Liberia Faculty Association has termed as unacceptable and an inconsistent administrative and managerial flaw on the part of the University to have shockingly canceled its Law School Entrance Examination Results.
From January 8-10, 2024, the state-run University administered its Law School Entrance Examination however, on May 2, 2024, the UL Public Relations announced the cancellation of the Law School Entrance Examination results, citing reasons as, some applicants sat the entrance exams without submitting all required documents, key for the cancellation.
But sharply reacting to this decision, the UL Faculty Association through a press release recently, described the situation as frustrating and uncivilized; adding that such a move has the propensity to undermine the credibility of the institution.
ULFA expressed grave concern and emphasized that the University of Liberia, as a flagship University of Liberia, is expected to set professional standards in all of its dealings as it serves as a role model to higher education in the country.
The association further holds that honest efforts must be made by all levels of decision-makers and stakeholders to maintain quality standards at the state-run institution, urging the University to reconsider its decision and accept the administrative blunder.
ULFA said it is taken aback that the University of Liberia could allow applicants of the Law School to sit the entrance exams without submitting all required documents, as stated in the University of Liberia May 2, 2024, Public Announcement.
The association recounted that applicants paid for the entrance examination without receiving exam numbers and this was not resolved, yet, the exam was administered under questionable circumstances; the deadline for the registration of the entrance is also unclear which are some of the reasons for the cancellation of the January 8-10, 2024 entrance as stated by the office of the Vice president of the University of Liberia.
Meanwhile, the UL Faculty Association called on the Board of Trustees to look into this issue with the utmost urgency required to ensure that the nobility of the University is maintained.
“As we await a reverse course of this action, ULFA shall begin to seek other means necessary to protect the image of the UL”, the release added.
