Tubman University announced on April 14, 2025, that Ms. Brenda Wisner, a distinguished student, has been selected to participate in the Summer 2025 Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) Madeleine K. Albright Young Women Leaders Program on Economic Empowerment.
This competitive academic program will be hosted by the University of Delaware in the United States from June 20 to July 25, 2025.
The administration stated that Ms. Brenda is expected to join a select cohort of young women leaders from around the world in a transformative four-week residency focused on economic development, leadership strategies, entrepreneurship, and community engagement.
University president Dr. Olu Menjay described the moment as a proud one for Tubman University. “Brenda’s achievement reflects the caliber of students we are nurturing. Our students are being prepared to engage meaningfully with the world and drive positive change. We celebrate her success and the continued growth of our global academic presence,” he said.
Dr. Menjay further announced that Brenda’s selection was accompanied by the nomination of Enniamene P. Gbarclay and Eunice Q. Gebur as alternate candidates for the program.
As alternates, they remain on standby and may be invited to participate should additional openings become available.
The SUSI Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and implemented through the U.S. Embassy in Monrovia.
It is designed to develop leadership skills, deepen participants’ understanding of U.S. culture and values, and foster long-term collaboration between the U.S. and future global leaders, with a focus on economic empowerment.
Dr. Menjay concluded by stating that Brenda’s selection underscores Tubman University’s commitment to academic excellence, student success, international engagement, and the empowerment of young women through meaningful learning opportunities.
