Transport Presents L$2,62, 500 To NAFOMTAL” We Will Fight Back”

The Minister of Transport, Samuel A. Wlue has presented a check of L$2,62,500 to the National Federation of Motorcycle and Tricycle Association of Liberia (NAFOMTAL) in fulfilment of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the Ministry of Transport and NAFOMTAL on February 8, 2023 and endorsed by the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) to ensure the safe, efficient and affordable operations of motorcycle in the country.
Speaking at the donation ceremony, Minister Wlue said that based on existing mutual relations and being the lead in the transport sector, they are mandated to ensure the delivery of quality service in the transportation sector and it was prudent to render support to the union.
He urged the ministry’s technical assistance to ensure that motorcyclists are trained, duly identified by their membership IDs, registered plates and safety jackets.
Minister Wlue asked the motorcycle union to closely work with the Ministry to organize a “Peace Ride” in honor of the holding of a peaceful Presidential and Legislative elections scheduled for October 2023.
Receiving the check on behalf of the union, the National President of NAFOMTAL, Harris M. Kollie thanked the Ministry and promised that the fund will be directed at meaningful initiatives that would help drive the agenda of the union.
