A Fulani was shot dead in broad daylight by suspected armed robbers before the compounds of the Mesurado Group of Companies on the UN Drive in Logan Town, Bushrod Island.
The deceased’s bag believed to be containing huge sum of money was also taken away by the robbers.
According to Bana Fm located in Logan Town, the incident occurred yesterday when the Fulani, who is yet to be identified, carried a bag reportedly containing some huge sum of money that had been immediately withdrawn from a local bank and he boarded a kehkeh but was chased unnoticed.
Eyewitnesses told the station that when the robbers approached the kehkeh opposite the Measurado Group of Companies , they stopped it and demanded that the deceased hands over the bag but upon his refusal, he was shot multiple times before they perpetrators fled the scene with the bag.
The victim was then rushed to the Redemption Hospital in the Borough of New Kru Town where he was pronounced Dead Upon Arrival by doctors on duty.
Some of the bystanders who later went on the scene of the incident stated that because of the shooting, they could not rescued the deceased rather they went into shelter for their dear lives leaving the armed robbers to escape.
“The robbers even left the scene before the police anti-armed robbery squad could arrive and this is scaring and also creating fear of insecurity in our country,” the observers explained.
This is the fourth incident since this week began as the first was at the Barnesville Housing Estate and the next was at the Kesselly Boulevard Junction in Gardnerville on Sunday, April 23 but during the night hours while another happened on the same day but in daylight when men on a motorcyclist shot a lady thereby carrying her hand bag around Congo Town in Paynesville.
Meanwhile, till date, there has been no public announcement of any arrests made by the police.
