Takes Liberia Out Of WAFU

Liberia Under 20 youth team has been knockout of the West African Football Union qualifiers to Tuesday night after conceding 12 goals in four matches without any win.
The delegation of youth players under the leadership of Gambian international coach Tarpeh Manneh lost three out of four matches and drew against Gambia that give her the only one point placing the Lonestar at the bottom of the table.

The team comprising of a 35 men after leaving the country August 26 and landed in Mauritania the following day faced it first challenge in the fixture when they were paired with their in the opening match which ended in a 2-0 score in against the red, white and blue boys.
Thereafter, Coach Tarpeh Manneh and his side were placed in game two with Senegal that defeated both Liberia and Sierra Leone in the Under 15 category on the evening hours August 30 that were the only match that give her a single point in the tournament.
Gambia the WAFU Zone ‘A’ lead team took the opportunity to seize by securing her own three points out of Lonestar in the tone of four goals to one dashing them with no hope of making a comeback to the tournament despite a final match were still pending against neighboring Guinea.


It became a confirmation that the Liberia delegation had no space in the next stage of the WAFU tournament when the final match failed them as Guinea defeated them 4-1 to book spot three.
Senegal becoming the top team in the WAFU Zone ‘A’ group ‘B’ defeated all her opponents excluding Liberia in four matches played coming out with 10 points followed by Gambia who won two out of four fixtures plus a draw that give her seven points.
Senegal and Gambia as winner and runner up of the group qualified to meet Cape Verde and Mali in the Simifinal rounds on tomorrow to show who goes to the African Cup Nations finals in Egypt according to the LFA.
