Teenager Allegedly Flogged To Death In Ganta

The Liberia National Police assigned in Ganta City is conducting an investigation into the death of a 13-year-old girl, Yah Samuel after a merciless flogging.
Speaking to this paper in the county, the LNP said that the victim’s father Richard Zemoe complained to the Police over the weekend that his little daughter, Yah Samuel was allegedly flogged to death by one Madam Effice Sonkarlay for allegedly stealing a touch screen phone from her daughter Ruth Sonkarlay.
The victim’s father added that his daughter was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Ganta United Methodist Hospital.
When this paper contacted LNP station in Ganta, Criminal Investigation Department confirmed the arrest and detention of Madam Sonkarlay in connection with the death of little Yah Samuel.
The death news of the victim, according to the LNP brought a huge angry crowd at the Police Station demanding the release of suspect Sonkarlay to them for investigation, but because of fear of setting the Police Station on fire, suspect Sonkarlay was secretly transferred to the LNP central office in Sanniquellie.
Madam Sonkarlay is a Nurse by profession working with the Ganta United Methodist Hospital Mental Department.
The Liberia National Police said that the preliminary investigation board has turned the victim’s body to her biological father, Richard Zemoe.
When this paper contacted the LNP central office in Sanniquellie via mobile phone, the CSD Commander in Nimba, Oscar Sayeh confirmed that Sonkarlay is presently behind bar undergoing investigation.
