The Superintendent Council’s meeting scheduled in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County by the Ministry of Internal Affairs(MIA) has been postponed.
Speaking in Zwedru, retired AFL Captain Emmanuel Doe, said the alleged poor preparation coupled with the prolonged absence of Superintendent Alex Grant from the county had led to the abrupt postponement of the meeting.
According to Doe, the abrupt change of venue for the superintendent council’s meeting was also worrisome.
“The counties’15 superintendents were here for the meeting but the poor preparations led to the change of the venue as well as the postponement of the meeting,” Doe restated.
Speaking further, registered nurse, Ruth Nyenpue, who operates a drug in Zwedru, told our reporter that the prolonged absent of Superintendent Grant and the city mayor are among contributing factors for the alleged poor preparations of the program .
The superintendent council’s meeting was earlier scheduled for Friday April 11, 2025, in Zwedru and since the postponement of the meeting coupled with criticism from many of the residents of the county, there has been no official statement from the county administration.
Superintendent Grant’s phone rang endlessly up to press time while the county’s Communication Director, Hanfort Badio, said Superintendent Grant is yet to provide any explanation for what led to the cancellation of the meeting.
“I contacted him but, he never explained anything to me,” Badio told the media.
