Sumaworo Participates In Saudi Confab

Shiekh Abubakar Sumaworo, represented Liberia in the just-ended international conference in Mecca, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The scholarly and religious gathering was held under the theme: “Enhancing communication links between religious organizations and Ifta’a in the world” bribging together hundreds of participants from more than one hundred countries. 

Liberia was represented by the prominent Islamic scholar and Mufti of the Supreme Fatwa Council of Liberia which is responsible for issuing Islamic legal guidance for the Muslims in the country and enlightening them about their rights and responsibilities.

Shiekh Sumaworo is a devoted and committed Islamic scholar who has been one of the pillars of religious tolerance in Liberia. He’s also a philanthropist, who has built more than 40 schools across the nation, built several mosques, and taught hundreds of Liberians.

Speaking at the conference, , His Eminence, Shiekh Abubakar extended on behalf of all Liberians and the government of Liberia, thanks and gratitude to King Salman AL-Saudi for education and development assistances his country has been rendering to Liberia.

He encouraged the Saudi Government to keep helping Liberia in its rebuilding process. Mufti Abubakar Sumaworo also called on Liberians to preserve their peace, especially amidst political rivalries, towards the October 10 Presidential and Legislative Elections.
