Former Montserrado District 13 Representative Aspirant, Success Minor, has been elected as President of the Midwest Chapter of the Association of Liberian Journalists in the Americas (ALJA).
The diligent Liberian journalist, very passionate to lead, will now serve his colleagues at the highest level in his sector for the next two years.
Minor, who slowed down his legislative ambition for personal reasons, continues to make his impact felt across all spectrums of the society.
Currently, he is continuing his scholarship programs within District 13, Montserrado County.
Additionally, Minor is empowering women and youths in the district, with vocational and skill training programs, including other self-help developmental initiatives intended to transform the district, county, and country in general.
Always willing to give back to his people, the newly elected President of ALJA’s Midwest chapter promised to serve his colleagues with passion and commitment.
Poised to be inducted into office, along with his other elected colleagues soon, the young and professional Liberian journalist assured his colleagues that he will work along with his team to help transform the Midwest chapter of that media body.
He named transparency, accountability, Good Governance, inclusiveness, equal opportunity, membership welfare, sound advocacy, and capacity development as key areas of priority for his new leadership for the next two years.
Minor, who is closely following the ongoing political activities in Liberia, urged residents of his district and Liberians in general to see peace as the ultimate and chief cornerstone towards the forward march of the country.
He wants the decisions that Liberians will make on October 10, 2023 to be a true reflection of the change that the people of Liberia deserve.
“To my young people, especially first time voters, let’s remain peaceful, resilient, focused, and ensure that your decision will be in your best interests,” he added.
At the same time, the former Representative hopeful, now president of the Midwest Chapter of the Association of Liberian Journalists in the Americas, encouraged all politicians to put the country first and to see the political activities as an event that will come and go, but the country will always remain.
“Let’s discuss the issues and avoid violence, including attacking personalities,” he re-emphasized.
Meanwhile, the newly elected officials who are expected to steer the affairs of ALJA’s Midwest chapter for the next two years are expected to be inducted into office in the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota, on this Saturday, September 16, 2023.
Those elected and expected to be inducted into office include Success A. Minor, President; Lassana Bamba, Vice President; James Bleetan, Secretary General; and Lisa Willie, Financial Secretary General.
