The Chairman of the Solidarity and Trust for a New Day (STAND), Mulbah Morlu, declared that the organization is not a political party but a dedicated civil society group focused on advocating for the rights and well-being of ordinary Liberians.
His comments came during the dedication of STAND’s new offices in Congo Town on Friday.

“STAND will remain a force for good,” he asserted, vowing to stand up for the masses and fight against impunity in Liberia.
Morlu articulated STAND’s mission to bring about necessary changes in a democracy he described as “rotten.”
He stressed that the organization prioritizes peace, stability, and democratic growth over political ambitions. “Liberia deserves better, and the change in this country must come now, not later”, he proclaimed.
During the ceremony, the Chairman of the Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR) of Liberia, Cllr. Dempster Browne, urged STAND to maintain its focus on civil advocacy and avoid politicization.
He commended STAND’s efforts in promoting human rights and called for unity among civil society organizations in the fight for social justice.
Also making remarks the Secretary General of the Liberia Council of Churches, Reverend Christopher Toe congratulated STAND on behalf of the Council’s President, Reverend Samuel Reeves, and welcomed the organization into the civil society’s community.
He expressed a commitment to collaborating with STAND in advocating for the rights of ordinary citizens.
Representing the National Muslim Council of Liberia at the ceremony was
Kuku Reeves, who also voiced support for STAND’s advocacy efforts, reinforcing the importance of their work for the Liberian people.
The dedicatory ceremony of STAND’s office drew a diverse audience from across Monrovia, including women and youth groups, representatives from various civil society organizations, and members of the Liberia Council of Churches and the National Muslim Council of Liberia, highlighting broad community support for STAND’s mission.
