Shaita Hold Life FC To A Draw

Life FC and Shaita FC settled to a two-all draw Wednesday, December 13, 2023 to draw the curtains down on the first phase of the Liberia Football Association National Second Division League being held across the country. 

At the Tusa Field Sports Pitch in Gardnersville, the game between the two sides was entertaining and created a scene that could build more appetite in local sports lovers for the resumption of the final phase of the league, which is expected to start after the festive season.  

During the fixture, the side playing in the home position, Life FC, took an early lead through a brilliant Adolphus Torbor finish. Not too long after, the sensational right back, Leviticus ‘Semedo’ Nagbe, drove in from the right wing to double their lead over the Careysburg Boys.

After a few minutes of play, Shaita FC responded, pulling a goal back with an Ousman Kamara strike before the climax of the first half. The two sides went to the break of half-time with a 2-1 scoreline in favor of Life FC.

Both teams returned from the break with players much more energized as the match got started, with the last 45 minutes showcasing a display of strenuous, physical football. At this point, Shaita FC appeared more forceful, fearless, and desperate in attack.

The away team consistently mounted pressure on the Life side in an attempt to level the score. It was seen that Life FC felt threatened by Shaita FC’s attack and reverted to a defense mechanism tactics; something which astronomically increased the pressure on them.

Shaita FC never ceased to lower the pressure on their opponents as they consistently launched a plethora of lethal attacks.

Life FC players looked exhausted in the dying embers of the game and resorted to delay tactics to eat up time. In such a time with their strategy, one of their defenders was shown a second yellow card (equivalent to a red card) for a ruthless challenge on a player of Shaita FC.

Just on the brink of stoppage time, Abraham Kamara did the needful by getting the equalizer for Shaita FC. Six minutes of stoppage time subsequently came to an end before the referee sounded the final whistle.
