Shaita Angels Warns Counterparts Ahead Of New League Season

Shaita Angels Vice President, Benita Urey, is confident that her side can compete for this year’s championship at the Women’s Upper League, the top-tier female league in the country.
She used the Angels’ 4-0 preseason win over Just FC as a warning shot to other teams that are going to be up against the Careysburg-based outfit, which ended the last season as champions of the lower women’s league in Liberia.
Sources close to the Careysburg City female giants and newly promoted Women’s Upper League side, are reporting that they are ready for the new campaign, having engaged in rigorous early preparation, ahead of the upcoming season.
The Angels showed supremacy over Just FC on Sunday afternoon, at the George Weah Technical Center, in front of their supporters.
Miatta Morris set up Erica Parson inside the eighteen-yard area, to give Shaita Angels a 1-0 lead, after an intensive opening period from both sides.
The combination of Miatta Morris, Cynthia Weah, and Erica Parson upfront, caused the defense of JUST FC all kinds of problems, forcing them to fall back and give more chances to Shaita Angels.
Miatta Morris got her name on the score sheet for the hosts when she converted a pass from Cynthia Weah to make it 2-0.
Fifteen minutes into the second half, Shaita Angels’ leading goal scorer, Erica Parson, doubled her tally when she casually drove inside the defense of Just FC to make it 3-0, before Miatta Morris solo ran from the middle of the park to the defense of the visitors, leaving the goalkeeper helpless, to get a brace of her own and put some gloss on the score line.
With the inclusion of several new players, Shaita Angels are set and ready to battle Women’s Upper League Favorite, Determine Girls, for this year’s championship.
Angels’ VP, Benita Urey, is quite confident that her side can compete for this year’s championship, judging from the performances she has seen so far, and with the preparations being made.
“We will play with our last drop of sweat to win this league. Shaita Angels will play football this year and I am convinced that we can be a title contender this season,” she asserted.
“With our performance last year in the Orange Cup, I can assure supporters of this Club that Shaita Angels will be one of the favorites to win this league, no disrespect to other clubs in the Women’s Upper League, but I can say to them that they should not overlook Shaita Angels; we are coming different this season,” said Urey.
Newly appointed Women’s National Team Coach, Selam Kebede, was in attendance at the George Weah Technical Center, to witness the drubbing, along with a representative of the Women’s Football Department, at the Liberia Football Association, Miss. Kebeh Lamine.
Following her visitation to Careysburg City, players from SHAITA ANGELS and JUST FC might be invited to train with the Senior Women’s National Team, or the Under-17, 18, and 20 national teams, as is fast becoming her habit.
