Shaita Angels Smash Blanco 6-0 -As Bassa Girls Get Narrow Win

The pride of Careysburg, Shaita Angels Football Club, kicked off their Upper Women’s league campaign with an impressive 6-0 win over Blanco Football Club on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

The match, played at Tusa Field in Gardnersvile, came with high expectations and the Angels did not disappoint, as Malusu Blama and Naresa Teah pulled their opponents’ horns with the greatest force, scoring a brace each.

In the first half, Naresa Teah and Sitta Saah opened the floodgates with two early goals. Malusu Blama increased the pressure on Blanco with her brace, securing a 4-0 first half win for the newly promoted club.

Erica Parson opened the second half with a goal, with the icing on the cake by Naresa Teah, to see the Champions of the lower Women’s league grab the second biggest victory in the league, next to Determine Girls.

Determine Girls on the opening day of the league, defeated Just FC, who had just been promoted to the upper league, 8-0, making them automatically top the league on goal difference, as the next round comes this weekend.

Bassa Girls FC grabbed their first Orange National Women’s League win against Soccer Ambassadors at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium, in a hard fought battle. The two sides went goalless at halftime and became separated in the second half when Winnie Davis got the lone goal of the match for her side.

At the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex Practice Pitch, on Tuesday September 19, 2023, Stages Queens’ loan player, Erica Vah, scored an equalizing goal to rescue a point for Stages Queens, in their 1-1 draw with Earth Angels Football Club.

Earth Angels FC, in the showpiece, took the lead in the second half through Rebecca Tarr, but the winger stepped up to help her side with a timely equalizer.
