Several Bridges Under Construction In Nimba

By Solomon T. Gaye
The construction of bridges geared towards road connectivity is reportedly in high gear in Nimba County.
China Railway Seventh Group (CRSG) and Compagnie Sahelienne Entreprise (CSE) are companies building the bridges on the Sanniquellie – Yekepa highway and Karnplay – Loguatuo highway respectively.
Speaking to this paper in Karnplay, Elder Peter Yormie explained that the construction of bridges along the Karnplay highway and Loguatuo highway is contributing to free movement and is a welcome news for the people of Gbellay – Geh district in Nimba County.
“Construction of bridges in Zorgowee Town, as well as Larpea One and Two Towns, is facilitating free movement,” Yormie disclosed.
Speaking in Loguatuo, health worker, Martha Saye, said that the building of bridges on 47.1-kilometer Loguatuo road by CRSG has reduced the transportation fare from Loguatuo to Sanniquellie.
“We used to pay L$1,500 on commercial vehicles from Loguatuo to Sanniquellie, but since the pavement of the Karnplay Highway and the reconstruction of the Loguatuo Border Town Road, the fare has dropped to L$860,” Saye disclosed.
Prior to 2022, the Ganta-Loguatuo Border Town was one of the most deplorable government roads during the rainy season in the country, but this development is sure to improve the general consensus as regards road connectivity and mobility, leaning more towards positive reviews.
