John B. Wah, 70, who said he saw the victory of Maryland County Senator J. Gleh-bo Brown in the October 10, 2023, senatorial elections has been recognized by the senator.
According to Senator Brown, Mr. Wah had a vision of his triumph in the elections, which he described as a “dream” or symbolic revelation.
Senator Brown made these remarks during a ceremony held on January 4, 2025, in Gbiabo Tayetaiwayso, attended by representatives from the nine traditional communities in Karluway Statutory District, Maryland County.
The senator disclosed that he was contacted in 2022 by community leaders from Karluway District to recognize Mr. Wah’s vision, which they believed was divinely inspired before the 2023 elections.
As a gesture of gratitude, Senator Brown has committed to building a house for Mr. Wah in appreciation of his contribution during a critical decision-making period in Maryland County’s political history.
Senator Brown, who serves as the Chairperson on the Liberian Senate’s Committee on Rules, Order, and Administration, expressed his heartfelt thanks to the people of Karluway Statutory District and Maryland County for re-electing him.
He acknowledged the historical significance of his victory, noting that Maryland County had not re-elected a senator since it became part of Liberia.
The senator then broke grounds for the construction of an elementary school in Gbiabo Tayetaiwayso.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, he emphasized his commitment to the project, which he described as a bridge between him and the community.
The senator explained that the community had initially requested zinc roofing materials to construct the school independently.
However, he decided to take on the entire project himself with a pledge to complete the school without any financial support from the central government.
Senator Brown promised to engage the Ministry of Education, including the District Education Officer (DEO) and the County Education Officer (CEO), to ensure the school is incorporated into the government’s education system upon completion.
Senator Brown described his second term in office as a “dream come true,” vowing to fulfill his goals and aspirations for Maryland County.
