Security, Media Operating Procedures Awareness In Elections Moves To Bassa

The nationwide awareness on the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for security and media in elections continues in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.

The SOPs activities are being supported by UNDP Liberia and partners: UN Women Liberia, Irish Aid, and Embassy of Sweden in Monrovia, USAID/Liberia, and Internews in Liberia

At the opening ceremony, the NEC Liberia Chair urged both security and media practitioners to work together for a peaceful election.

Madam Davidetta Browne Lansanah underscored the important roles and responsibilities of both media and security towards peaceful elections and termed the SOPs document as one of the best instruments for the election process.

The SOPs grew out of sustained dialogues between and amongst media and security officers dating back to 2020.
