Second Division Round Four Overview

Round four of the Orange Second Division League kicks off today September 28, 2023, with four fixtures, including an early foot-of-the-table clash between PAGS and Margibi Football Clubs at the Tusa Field Sports Pitch.

PAGS, in the 13th place on the league’s current standings, come to the game on the back of a strong 2-0 win over Discoveries last week, after losing their opening two fixtures to Shaita Angels and Junior Professionals. PAGS know that a win could take them up to the 7th spot, while waiting for the conclusion of the fourth round of matches in the league.

Undefeated Life FC can go one point at the top for at least 24 hours, if they win against Junior Professionals in the afternoon’s match today, at the George Weah Technical Center in Careysburg.

Third placed Black Man Warriors can make it three wins in a row if they win against the ‘Church Boys’ Jubilee at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium, while Shaita FC will face Mighty Enforcers, in a litmus test in the George Weah Technical Center’s late game.

On Friday, the table toppers, a newly promoted second division club, Philadelphia Lonestar, with a wonderful league debut record, will host Gardnersville Football Club at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Practice Pitch in Paynesville, and Samira will welcome Sinoe NPA at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.

Discoveries, who are without a win since the opening weekend, will try to avoid a third consecutive defeat when they host Nimba FC at the Tusa Field, while Wologisi take on former first division relegated boys, Nimba United, in Voinjama on Sunday.

Margibi, Samira, and Nimba Football Clubs, are currently in the red zone, looking to win a match since the commencement of the 2023/2024 league season. Margibi have two points in three meetings, where they collected only two draws, losing 3-0 to Nimba County-based new boys, Mighty Enforcers, on the opening day of the league season.

Samira and Nimba FC secured only a draw each in their first three matches, to hold the bottom space of the National Second Division league table.
