Sarpo Youth Prexy Calls For Unity And Peace

The President of the Sarpo Youth Development Association, Christopher N. Gbah, has called on fellow citizens, especially the youths of District 3 in Sinoe County to be united and reconcile their differences for the furtherance of peace and development.
Mr. Gbah explained that although Sinoe is one of the founding Counties of the nation with many it is also one of the least developed and most impoverished counties due to disunity, conflict-ridden politics and internal bickering.
He stated further that besides the tribal conflict between the Kru and Sarpo, the two major tribes of the county that is already having a tremendous negative impact on the development of the county, there are also internal problems even amongst the Sarpo themselves that need to be handled care.
“As president of the Sarpo Youth, I am calling on our people to put aside all our problems and work together as one people, because an eye for an eye will leave many people blind, and a soul for a soul will create many graves,” he noted.
The Sarpo Youth boss stressed that if the people of the district work together in harmony and unity regardless of being Kru or Sarpo they will achieve incredible things like drawing investors to create jobs and improve the poor living conditions of the
President Gbah also admonished the Sinoe Legislative Caucus to put all their differences and personal egos aside and work together as one body to promote and protect the interest of the county and its people who have voted them into office.
He then called on Senator Milton Teajay who was anticipating withdrawing his support from the County Legislative Caucus to reconsider his decision and resolve whatever problem he is having with his colleagues because his present is highly needed and the people still look up to him as their senator.
Gbah spoke to this Paper recently in Monrovia regarding a failed peace and reconciliation program that should have been held July 26 in Karmo Town, Sinoe County to mend the wounds of post elections violence that left one person blind.
The incident occurred in 2017 right after Rep. Matthew Zarzar was declared the winner of District #3 in Sinoe for the second time in a row, at which time his supporters in jubilant mood clashed with the supporters of Rev. Shadrach Kolo Saywon also a contender in the election.
The Sarpo Youth Organization was founded to work with other organizations and the people of Sinoe to promote unity, peace and development by advocating against pre and post elections violence in Sinoe and beyond as well as promoting community initiatives like awareness on HIV and AIDs, TB, and other forms of communicable diseases while also soliciting funds for scholarships for its members
