RVSAC Plans 3rd Anniv. Celebrations -Prepares For LONA’s Membership

The president of the Veteran Social and Athletic Club (RVSAC), Sekou M. Massaley, has assured his team members that he is diligently working towards registering the club under the Liberia Old-timers National Association (LONA).
This move aims to enable RVSAC to participate in LONA’s annual league.
Veteran Social and Athletic Club, established on October 15, 2021, is one of the most talked-about old-timers football clubs in the Caldwell community.
Mr. Massaley, who was elected president in the club’s founding year, stated that the main objective is to unite members who played football in their younger years.
Mr. Massaley explained that most team members are currently between the ages of 35 to 38, making them ineligible for the LONA league, which requires athletes to be at least 40 years old.
Despite this, he emphasized that the team is on the right path to becoming LONA members.
In two years, the majority of RVSAC players will meet the age requirement, and Mr. Massaley is confident that their goal of joining the LONA league will be realized.
He encouraged team members to maintain their physical fitness and continue training, as this will help them stay healthy and prepared for future challenges. “First of all, I am pleased to thank Almighty God for us all as members of the Veteran Social and Athletic Club.โ€
โ€œThrough His mercy, we have worked together for the common growth of our team and its members over the past two years and ten months. We are now preparing for our third anniversary celebration, and we hope to continue progressing as members of our old-timers team,” said Mr. Massaley.
Meanwhile, as part of the third anniversary celebration, RVSAC plans to invite old-timers teams from the Bushrod Island communities that are part of LONA and this will allow these LONA member teams to observe the quality of RVSAC players as they continue their preparations for LONA membership.
Mr. Massaley described the team’s response to meetings and other activities as very encouraging. He called on team members to intensify their training as they prepare for the third anniversary celebration, scheduled for October 15, 2024.
In summary, the president’s dedication to registering RVSAC under LONA and the planned third anniversary celebration highlight the club’s ongoing efforts to grow and achieve their goals.
