The Chief Administrative Officer of Ricks Institute, Enoch G. David Nyakoon, has admonished graduates to continue to build on the culture, virtues, vision, and values the Institute.
Rev. Nyakoon made the statement when he spoke at the graduation exercise of the institute held in the Washington Chapel Auditorium of the William V.S. Tubman Administrative Building on the school’s campus.
The school graduated over 60 students who passed the West African Secondary School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE).
“Risk Institute strives to be Africa’s most loved school with a relentless pursuit of academic excellence in all areas of education and technology, therefore let’s build on our values of spirituality and academic excellence with freedom and responsibility,” the Baptist prelate told jubilant graduates.
Dr. Nyakoon informed the graduates that he and his team are currently seeking financial support to improve the school’s infrastructure including paving the street from the main road to the school as well as repair and modernize the facilities with high-speed internet, water system and the procurement of bigger generators for stable electricity, more lawn tractors to beautify the campus with excellent landscaping among many others.
“We will strive to work with the Liberian government through the Ministry of Health to provide attending physicians and nurses to manage the Ricks Clinic, the Innovative Principal told the graduates.
Serving as keynote speaker, the Vice President, Jewel Howard-Taylor, challenged the graduates to push forward for higher education and serve as ambassadors of the institute in the larger society.
Vice President Howard-Taylor also lauded the Liberia Baptist Missionary and Educational Convention headed by Rev. Dr. Samuel B. Reeves, Jr. and the Administration of the school for impacting and preparing hundreds of Liberians over the years, some of whom are making positive impacts both in Liberia and around the world.
Rev. Reeves and the Chairperson of the Board of Trustee of Ricks Institute, Rev. Perrick A. Stephens, III as well as the Chairperson of the Education Commission Francis L.M. Horton were among several dignitaries who graced the colorful ceremony held in Virginia, outside Monrovia.
Ricks Institute is one of Liberia’s leading Institutions and a flagship boarding institute of the Liberia Baptist Missionary and Educational Convention established in 1887.
