The founder of the Christ Victory International School System in Margibi County, David Dahn, is calling for collective efforts to weed out bad practices and academic fraud from the educational system in the country.
He said among the problems impeding the academic development of youths are academic fraud and bad practices in schools.
The prelate made the call when he appeared on the National Hour on the United Methodist Radio in Monrovia on yesterday and stressed that the habits of teachers demanding money from students, parents or guardians for grades should be dealt with holistically.
The Liberian clergy claimed that some schools’ dropouts are crossing over into the teaching profession as means of seeking livelihoods easily and even at the detriment of the students.
Rev. Dahn stressed the need for educators to uphold integrity in the education system in order to prepare the young people for the future responsibilities which include running the affairs of the country.
“Schools are supposed to be having straight rules and regulations that students have to abide by; schools should also be able to introduce character education which should include stakeholders, parents and teachers in order to reinforce the law,” he noted.
He maintained that the students have to be serious about their education because whatsoever they do today will determine their future, adding that teachers have to stop harassing the kids for money which most times hamper their learning processes.
Meanwhile, the Founder of the Christ’s Victory International School System attributed the low performances of students to the lack of their teachers’ integrity.
The school system that was established since 1998 currently has 200 enrollments and has graduated hundreds of students.
