“Respect And Obey Stipulated Graduation Fee” -Minister Jallah Warns School Principals

The Minister of Education has affirmed that the maximum graduation fee for private schools is capped at US$100 and should not exceed this amount under any circumstances.
Making statement at the Monday’s roundtable meeting with principals and proprietors of private and faith-based schools, Education Minister Jarso Maley Jallah outlined the strategic plan to reform graduation fee policies.
She stressed that the fee announced is adequate for covering graduation expenses and that schools must strictly adhere to this policy while encouraging schools’ authorities to actively engage with the Ministry of Education to collectively work towards a brighter future for the education system.
She assured the principals that schools must respect and obey the stipulated graduation fee policy and that no additional charges should be imposed on students.
Meanwhile, the one-day forum aimed to foster resilience, cooperation, and collaboration among various stakeholders in the education sector, ensuring full compliance with the Ministry’s guidelines, procedures, regulations, and policies was held at the Ministerial Complex.
The meeting’s primary objective was to facilitate the exchange of ideas, strategies, and best practices in preparation for the upcoming school year.
By promoting a culture of collaboration, the Ministry aims to help schools navigate challenges, streamline efforts, and enhance the overall quality of education delivery.
Minister Jallah underscored the critical importance of fostering a dynamic education sector through partnerships with private and faith-based schools.
She also highlighted the necessity of creating a regulatory framework focused on adherence to established standards, stressing that the collective efforts of these schools are crucial for driving positive growth within the education sector.
The principals and proprietors of private and faith-based schools commended the Ministry for its initiative and expressed their commitment to working closely with the Ministry to improve the education sector.
Dr. Jallah emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Ministry of Education and private and faith-based schools to achieve sustainable advancements in the education sector and noted that the meeting marks a significant step towards fostering a unified and cohesive educational ecosystem that prioritizes the well-being and academic success of students.
