Margibi County District 4 Representative, Emmanuel Yarh has launched the rehabilitation of the Bullorquelleh Road in Weala, District 5, while making bold remarks about the shortcomings of politicians.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place on March 10, 2025, and was attended by local leaders, community members, and contractor Moses Darmoi.
During his speech, Yarh described politicians as “ungrateful,” admitting that some make promises they cannot fulfill.
He criticized the delays caused by government bureaucracy, revealing that despite multiple assurances from the Ministry of Public Works (MPW), no action was taken to rehabilitate the road.
Frustrated by the inaction, Rep. Yarh said he decided to proceed with the project independently to meet his constituents’ needs. The US$48,000 project will rehabilitate a key road (45miles) connecting Bullorquelleh Junction to parts of District 4.
Yarh acknowledged the high costs of hiring equipment and credited Moses Darmoi, CEO of MOBEL Incorporated, for providing machinery to support the rehabilitation process. Without this assistance, Yarh said, the project would not have been possible.
For his part, contractor Moses Darmoi explained that the road has four critical sections that disrupt movement during rainy seasons. He praised Yarh for taking tangible steps to address these issues and emphasized that this phase of work will extend as far as Sekey Town.
The project aims to improve transportation for residents and marks a significant step in addressing longstanding infrastructure challenges in that part of the county, and work commenced immediately following the ground breaking ceremony.
Also speaking, local chiefs in the area lauded Rep. Yarh for initiating the project.
According to the chiefs including the Clan Chief of Wiah Clan, Musu Yango, the project will bring total relief to residents of the area.
They indicated that over the years, residents of the area have faced serious difficulties in commuting along that route especially during the rainy season. The local officials concluded that the project when completed, will give residents easy access to transportation.
