Margibi District 3 Representative Ellen Attoh-Wreh has officially dedicated a new police depot in Wenneh Town.

She also broke grounds for the construction of a US$33,000 bridge connecting the Mandingo Quarter and Daduta communities.

Over the weekend, the two major development projects, which took center stage during a day-long event, reflect Rep Attoh-Wreh’s commitment to improving public safety and transportation infrastructure in the district.

The program was graced by law enforcement personnel, local officials, and community members, expressing optimism that the new facility will enhance safety and foster a stronger relationship between the police and residents.

At the dedication ceremony of the police depot, Rep.Attoh-Wreh underscored the importance of law enforcement in maintaining peace and security.

She emphasized that the establishment of the facility was in direct response to concerns from residents about rising crime in the area.

“I am presenting this police station today because of the many complaints from the Wenneh Town community and its surroundings about criminal activities. We shared some of their reports with the police, and they agreed that action was needed. That is why we are here today for this presentation,” Rep. Attoh-Wreh stated.

The newly inaugurated sub-police depot has been handed over to the Margibi Police Detachment to strengthen security operations and improve response times in the district.

Rep. Attoh-Wreh also reaffirmed her commitment to supporting community policing efforts, including providing logistical assistance to the Community Watch Forum of Liberia.

She stressed that community involvement is crucial in ensuring effective law enforcement and encouraged residents to collaborate with security personnel to combat crime.

Following the police depot dedication, Rep. Attoh-Wreh proceeded to break grounds for the construction of a US$33,000 bridge that will serve as a vital connection between the Mandingo Quarter and Daduta communities.

The bridge project, funded through the Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment (LACE) under the Community Works Program, aims to replace a temporary crossing that was built in 2020.

The new structure is expected to improve transportation, boost economic activity, and facilitate better access to essential services for residents.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, Rep.Attoh-Wreh highlighted the importance of investing in infrastructure to foster development and improve the quality of life for citizens.

“This bridge is crucial for the people of this district. It will not only ease movement but also enhance trade and connectivity between communities,” she stated.

Local leaders, including Kakata City Mayor, Gbarngawoe E. Seyboe, and Superintendent Duncan, joined residents in welcoming the initiative. Many expressed gratitude to Rep. Attoh-Wreh for prioritizing the district’s infrastructure needs.

The bridge project is scheduled for completion within 60 days, in line with the contractor’s timeline.

Rep Attoh-Wreh assured community members that the project would be carefully planned and executed to meet their needs efficiently. Rep. Attoh-Wreh further pledged to continue working on initiatives that address key challenges in the district, ensuring sustainable development and a better future for the people of Margibi County.
