In an effort to improving the ‘messy education’, Bomi County Electoral District #1 Representative, Edwin Melvin Snowe has brought in country 40ft container filled with textbooks for Sinje district.
Making the disclosure in Bomi County, Edwin D. Miller, Chief of Staff to Honorable Edwin Snowe said the donation is intended to enhance educational drive in his district and county.
According to Miller, when his boss took over the district as Representative, he was confronted with lots of challenges and among those hurdles, was the issue of education of he has decided to response to.
The lawmaker has already invested lots on Scholarship so, he decided to that is now necessary to invest in education a decision he said propelled him to bring in country text books for students in district and county at large.
The text books which ranged from Elementary up to junior and Senior high schools aimed at preparing the kids in the district to score high marks in public tests.
Mr. Miller who estimated the cost of the books at US$25,000 also indicated that said text books will be distributed to the five schools in Sinje. According him, the Representative Snowe also intoned that he will later consult with his colleagues lawmakers so as to extend the distribution of the books to the rest of the districts.
“The textbooks will go a long way in providing quality education in the district and Liberia at large. The books will be stamped before distribution so as to shun insignificant folks marketing those text books intended for the district and county only,” Mr. Miller told journalists in Bomi County.
