Rep. Schaack Expresses Concerns Over Liberians In China

The Chairperson of the Women Legislative Caucus, Rosana Schaack, is calling on Liberian women to join efforts in creating awareness on the prevention of the Coronavirus as she expresses concern over Liberians currently in China.
The Rivercess Electoral District #1 Representative lauded the plenary of the House of Representatives for its overwhelming votes to convey a message of condolences to the people and government of China.
She stated that there are several Liberians in China, some of whom are there on business purposes and are now cutoff, while others have gone on scholarships to study. She therefore said, it was time for Liberians to act in order to show love and affection to the Chinese.
Her called comes in the wake of a request made to the plenary of the House of Representatives by Bomi County District #1 lawmaker, Edwin Snowe, that the Legislature should officially communicate its condolences to the Chinese Government over the loss of several Chinese as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak in that part of the world.
Rep. Schaack also called on women groups as well as her colleagues in the Legislature to join the Chinese government in the fight to save lives against this gruesome virus.
According to the BBC, the total cases thus far stands at 75,312 of persons affected, with number of death at 2,012 and at least 15,056 have recovered so far. Currently, infected patients stand at 46,188 (79%), 12,056 (21%) seriously critical.
Cases of the Coronavirus which had outcome stands at 17,068, cases discharged are 15,056 (88%) and 2,012 (12%). The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is affecting countries and territories around the world and one international conveyance (the Diamond Princess Cruise Ship currently harbored in Yokohoma, Japan).
Statistics also shows that China has 74,187 cases, Diamond Princess, 621 cases; Japan, 83 cases; Singapore, 81; Hong Kong, 63 cases; South Korea, 51 cases; Thailand, 35 cases; the USA, 29 cases; Taiwan, 23 cases; Malaysia, 22 cases; Germany, 16 cases; Vietnam, 16 cases; Australia, 15 cases; France, 12 cases; and Macao, 10 cases.
Others are UK 9 cases, U.A.E., 9 cases; Canada, 8 cases; Philippines, 3 cases; Italy, 3 cases; India, 3 cases; Russia, 2 cases; Spain, 2 cases; while Egypt, Sweden, Nepal, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Belgium, and Finland have just one case each.
