Rep. Kamara 26-Cows Offer Backfires, But…

District 15, Montserrado County Representative Abu Kamara has for the first time since his election in the controversial by-election in 2019, donate cows to residents of is district as July 26 gifts,.

Some communities that rejected the lawmaker’s offer, especially those in Caldwell, described his gesture as a belated gift and an attempt to lure them into voting for him in the pending elections.

According to them, since his election in 2019, Rep. Kamara has neither visited their communities nor initiated any project from monies intended for the district.

According to Mr. Smith Peters, a resident of Caldwell and a lecturer at the University of Liberia, Mr. Kamara’s July 26 gift is a mockery to the people of District 15 who risked their lives for his election.

Mr. Peters described Rep. Kamara, as a political ingrate who does not deserve to represent the people of District 15.

“We were very unfortunate to elect a man like Abu to represent us in the first place. There is nothing he can boast of in this district besides erecting a building in Logan Town and giving it to Zogoes and inciting violence against opposition party rallies in the district,” he charged.

“Abu is the worst lawmaker this district has ever encountered in post-war Liberia, and we will ensure that we take this “bobo lawmaker” from over our heads,” he added.

Also speaking, Mr. Ernest Nyema confirmed that since his election to represent the district, Abu has never appreciated the district for his election.

“Abu is a mistake for this district, and we have resolved to kick him out, come October 10 this year. If he likes, he can bribe the whole Liberia, it will not help him. We will campaign against him with all our strength and might,” Mr. Nyema said.

Meanwhile, some beneficiaries of the July 26 cow giveaway have lauded the lawmaker for his gesture and promised to vote for him.

According to them, Abu is a people-centered person who has won their admiration since his ascendancy to the National Legislature.

“Abu is a representative of the people. Every office has its own short comings, but Abu is living above those challenges, which is why I love him,” Madam Elizabeth Slobert said.

According to her, Abu is the only representative that is loved by the people of District 15 for his role in the House of Representatives; by Gideon Nma Scott, Jr.
