Racer Dies In Lonestar Cell MTN Canoe Competition In Buchanan

Report coming from Grand Bassa County says Lonestar Cell’s Canoe race meant to celebrate Father’s Day in Buchanan turned into a scene of sorrow after one of the racers identified as Junior Nimley died immediately after competing in the tough race.
The late Nimley joined his colleagues and the Lonestar Cell MTN Company at Upper Buchanan during the afternoon hours on Saturday, June 17,2023 to form part of the event in the county.
According to some eyewitnesses from the county, Nimley died after paddling with force from a long distance on the river; something that allegedly cut off his breath thus leading to his untimely death.
Accordingly, Nimley was pronounced dead by medical doctors at the Liberian Government Hospital in Buchanan upon arrival.
Lonestar Cell MTN was the proud host of the event in which Nimley met his demise and all efforts applied in contacting the management of Lonestar Cell MTN proved futile until press time. Investigation continues.
