The Qatar Fund for Development, through the Embassy of the State of Qatar near Monrovia, has distributed food materials to over 20 institutions and 6,000 individuals in Liberia as they observed the holy month of Ramada.
This initiative, funded by the Qatar Fund for Development, a Qatari-based development establishment, is also aimed at alleviating hunger and providing support during the holy month of Ramadan, as items donated include several 25kg bags, oil, and vita, among others.
The food items donation targeted the poor and needy people during this fast month, where charity-giving is highly encouraged, as they intercede on behalf of the country and its citizenry.
The Qatari-Liberian relations are solid and firm in development and humanitarian cooperation, as the gesture from the Qataris further represents the Liberian-Qatari friendship and long-lasting friendship.
During the distribution, thousands of Liberian Muslims benefited from the distribution, including the Liberia Muslim Foundation for Development, Markaz Oubai ibn Ka’b for Quranic Memorization and Iron Factory Central Mosque.
Others are the Islamic Unity Foundation Center and Alhaji Souleyman Syllah Foundation Mosque, coupled with 15 other institutions, as statically, more than 6,000 individuals benefited from the food items.
Presenting the items, the organization’s representative highlighted the dedication of the organization to humanitarian work, and narrated, “Our goal is to provide assistance to those who are struggling, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.”
“Because we believe that no one should go through this fast month hungry, and we are committed to working with local partners to ensure that our support reaches those who need it most,” the Qatar Fund for Development representative assured.
They emphasized the importance of collaboration with the Muslim community to maximize the impact of their initiatives, adding, “We are grateful for all your support and together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of many families.”
Receiving the items, the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the support received from the Qatar Fund for Development, thus describing the distribution as a blessing for their community.
