By Solomon T. Gaye, Sr.
The Principal of the John Wesley Pearson Senior High School in Ganta, Nimba County, Nyan Taylor Guannue, is amongst many aspirants who have expressed the desire to contest as representative in Electoral District 1 in next year’s polls.
He told the media that the district is fast growing in population like Montserrado County but regrettably, its present lawmaker lacks the experience when it comes to making representation on behalf of the people in Ganta.
Guannue said Representative Samuel Brown, who replaced Jeremiah Koung now a Senator after the 2022 midterm polls the lack administrative ability to lobby with his colleagues on behalf of Ganta (Electoral District One) in Nimba County.
He added that even in 2022, Brown is unable to convince the people for which he was elected by winning the people’s minds for his reelection but only to be dishing out cash to community radio stations in the name of developments and his organization named and styled Friends of Brown (FOB).
Buttressing Guannue’s desire on the same matter, George Saye, an elder said Guannue’s decision of wanting to contest for the representative seat is in the best interest of the chiefs and elders of the district in Ganta.
Guannue is the second public school principal to break silence to vie for elected public office.
The Messiah Christian Senior High School principal was the first in August who declared his intention to square up against Representative Larry Younquoi in Electoral District 8 next year’s elections.
