The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah has, on behalf of the Government and People of the Republic of Liberia and in his own name extended his warmest congratulations to His Excellency Faure Gnassingbe on the occasion of his re-election as President of the Republic of Togo.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, President Weah intimated that as his counterpart once more assume the herculean task of shaping the future of his country, he expressed hope that the existing cordial ties between the two countries and peoples will be furthered strengthened in the spirit of friendship and cooperation.
The Liberian leader said that the fourth term re-election of President Gnassingbe did not come as a surprise; it shows the level of confidence his people and the rest of the continent repose in his ability to steer the affairs of his country.
He further expressed the necessity to deepen cooperation in trade and commerce and other forms of partnership that spur developments in their respective countries and the continent as a whole.
The Liberian President then prayed that the Almighty God will continue to endow His Excellency with increased wisdom and resilience as he lead the people of Togo to prosperity and continue happiness.
