Police Policy Management Board Commences Retreat

The Liberia National Police (LNP) Policy Management Board (PMB) has begun a crucial three-day retreat aimed at enhancing law enforcement policies and strengthening the force’s operational efficiency.
The retreat, taking place in Monrovia from February 20 to 22, brings together key stakeholders, including representatives from the Ministries of Justice and Finance, the Liberia Institute of Law Enforcement and Public Administration (LIPA), and other relevant agencies.
The primary objective of the retreat is to review, adopt, and validate several significant policy frameworks essential for the effective functioning of the LNP.
Among the key areas of focus are: Presidential Security Details Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Internal Security Service Unit Regulations, Amendments to Discipline and Professional Standards (pages 93-102 and section 8, page 135.1), Recruitment Entry-Level Policy, Uniforms and Welfare System, Other Relevant Policies
At the opening ceremony, Deputy Inspector General of Police for Administration, William Mulbah, extended a warm welcome to the Board Members on behalf of Inspector General, Gregory Coleman.
He expressed gratitude for their dedication to refining the LNP’s policies and urged them to continue aligning the force with international best practices.
Despite his demanding schedule, IGP Coleman made a brief appearance at the retreat to reaffirm his unwavering support for the initiative.
He emphasized the retreat’s importance in fostering professionalism, accountability, and efficiency within the LNP.
The discussions and resolutions from the retreat are expected to shape critical reforms within the LNP, ensuring a more effective and professional police force committed to public safety and national security.
