By Solomon T. Gaye-Nimba

Liberia National Police Officer Sweetie W. Berh was over the weekend allegedly flogged by LIS-River Gee Border patrol vehicle commander Albert Blah, in Nimba.

Speaking in Sanniquellie, Police Berh explained that her flogging was triggered for what the LIS Commander viewed as her failure to have rendered him courtesy by delaying to open the gate upon arrival of the River Gee Border patrol vehicle bearing plate 0341 at the gate coupled with her failure to salute him.

According to the female officer, Commander Blah flogged her with a big stick which wounded her on the back.

She explained her ordeal by stating that the arrogance of power demonstrated by Commander Blah through the beating she received led to urinating on herself in uniform.

“I never did anything to him, he said that I delay to drop the gate, he knocked me down beat me with a big stick on my back and I pepe on myself,” LNP Berh, explained her ordeal, broken down in tears.

“The man beat me until my marriage ring on my finger lost and he attempted shooting me with the gun. That led to community watch forum members assigned at the gate in the night to escape,” police Berh revealed.

During a normal routine at the LNP station in Sanniquellie, the LIS- River Gee Border patrol vehicle bearing plate 0341 was seen parked at the station along with some senior LIS- border patrol officers assigned in Nimba sitting with their colleagues.

The is the second LNP female officers been beaten in less than three months in the county under the watchful eyes of the LNP authorities in the County.

It can be recalled that earlier October, 2024, Police Officer Maron Cooper was reportedly flogged and wounded by LIS officers while on duty in Sanniquellie.

When contacted in Sanniquellie on the allegation of flogging made by Police Officer Berh, the LIS River Gee Border Patrol Commander Blah remains tight-lipped up to press time. When contacted via mobile phone, ACP Mendin Larmie declined to comment on grounds that he is not informed about such issue, saying “The information is not to my knowledge, so I can’t speak on that until such information reaches my desk,” ACP Larmie, declared.
