Police Begins Investigations Into Armed Robberies In Ganta

The Liberia National Police (LNP) in Nimba is rigorously conducting investigations into various alleged armed robberies in Ganta, Nimba County.

Matthew Bill Yeaney, a business man, alleged that on December 30, 2022, an unknown gun man shot him at the Tokay Hall Community while riding home on a motorcycle from his business center.

The Liberian business man and money exchanger Yeaney, alleged that the unknown gun man shot him with an automatic machine gun and later escaped to an unknown destination.

Since the beginning of December 2022, reports of armed robbery meted on peaceful citizens coupled with other armed attacks in residential areas seem to be the order of the day and a common practice in Nimba County.

This is the second armed robbery in less than a month leaving one person wounded in Ganta.

During the beginning of December 2022, armed men attacked a residential area in Saclepea and the case is pending investigation before the LNP.

When this paper contacted the LNP station in Ganta, CSD Preston Gonpue, confirmed the arrests and detention of three suspects in connection with the armed robbery at the Tokay Hall Community in on December 30, 2022.

According to the LNP, the preliminary investigation board has charged Fredrick Dumbar, Terry Suah and Roland Keh with conspiracy, armed robbery, aggregated assault, criminal facilitation and theft of property and sent to court for prosecution.
