Police Arrest Criminal Gang Lead,
Others In Duala Market Shoot Out

The Liberia National Police (LNP) has sent Emmanuel James Alias Ekweand 10 others to court for allegedly leading some criminals in an attack with the joint security and other peaceful citizens in the Duala-Kuwait Market recently.
Those charged are; Ernest Hoff, Joseph Mulbah , Mohammed Turay, Mohammed Juma Barry, Benedict McCauley, Issa Lamin, Abraham Kanty , Foday Siafa, Abdullah Samola, Saah David, John Teeman , Melvin Logan , George Potter, Anthony Kollie, Gede Filmore Neal, John Freeman, Success Bangura , Tebell Saytue and Arthur Kumorteh.
The defendants were charged with the crimes of Criminal Conspiracy, Criminal Facilitation, Aggravated Assault and Armed Robbery which are in Violation of Chapters 10 , 15, Sections 10.2, section 10.4 Section 14.21 Chapter 15 Subchapter ‘C’ Section 15. 32 of the Revised Penal Law.
According to the investigation, the defendants led the zogos to attack the officers, place people under gun point, broke into shops and wounded victims Mohammed Sheriff before taking away the properties.
The investigation revealed that the defendants who allegedly attacked the officers and threatened to harm other civilians were armed with single barrel guns, cutlasses, knives, scissors and other deadly weapons.
The investigation classified the defendants as notorious drugs dealers within the Duala and other communities who are bent on hiring criminals to attack people and take away their properties.
The incident occurred on November 23 when the Anti- Robbery Unit in collaboration with its counterpart received a tip-off that armed robbers continued to rain havoc on the residents of Duala.
